LIFE

Man...I feel like I have so much to write, but my thoughts are all in a jumble in my head. I haven't blogged in a bit so I feel compelled to update. To start, Edgar and I have continued with our working out and every time we go to the gym I feel good. I know he and I both have long ways to go in order to get into what we would consider our "prime" shape, but for once I'm willing to go the distance for it. I know I have not lost an enormous amount of weight, but when I can notice my clothes starting to fit me a little loose in places where they were tight, it keeps me wanting to work out even more. I have not felt this motivated in a looooong time and it makes me feel really good about myself.

There are days I have been consumed with feelings that I have never had before. I know, it's sounds melodramatic, but it's the truth. Lately, I have found myself feeling so content with life and it's a wonderful feeling. I have a wonderful fiancé who cares about me so much and about taking care of "us". I have a wonderful mother who has found a great person to share her life with and he's basically accepted me as another one of his daughters. I have a good job. I live in a great place and our cat loves us--hahaha...yes this all makes me so happy.

Tomorrow I am leaving to an Academic Advising Conference in Baltimore, MD. I am looking forward to learning many things about my career and gaining insight and ideas that I can directly apply to my advising skills. I am looking forward to going to see the East Coast for the first time ever and I am looking forward to seeing my cousin, his wife and their son who live over there. I am not however looking forward to being without my fiancé. I know I sound like a whiny little baby--but the beginning of our relationship was long distance and airports remind me of days that I had to say goodbye to him and the pain I used to feel knowing that I was not going to see him for a while. We've lived together now for almost 3 years and I see him everyday...but I never get tired of seeing him or feeling him or smelling him (yes he has a very distinct smell that I associate with "home"). I will miss him on this 5 day trip and wish that I could somehow take him with me. Too bad he doesn't fit in my suitcase. :D
