ARE YOU SERIOUS???

So here's the story. Last month my friend Jenn told me about this wedding photography contest that was going on and I took a look at the photographers link. Their pictures were awesome and the photography package they were offering to the winning couple was worth $9000.00!!! So after some thought I decided to write a little blurb on how Edgar and I met and submit it for the contest. I thought, heck, what do I have to lose right? Seriously I thought it was a long shot. So there I was typing in between advising breaks with my students--when I was happy enough with our story I copied it into an email along with four pictures of Edgar and myself and sent it into cyberspace. (This was Jan. 11).

Early this morning when I got to work and turned on my computer I checked my email and saw that I had a message from Jenn urging me to check the photographers blog. I clicked on the link and low and behold Edgar and I had been selected as 1 of the 3 finalists! I felt all the blood in my body rush to my head. I was tingling all over and shaking. I couldn't believe my eyes...but there we were smiling like two silly children on the computer screen. I was so shocked. I feel very fortunate to have been picked, but after being preoccupied with the thought of winning and losing all day, I feel I will leave it in destiny's hands. What is meant to be will be--if we get it cool, if we don't--well let's just say I didn't have anything to begin with so I really am not losing anything. I know, that any one of us who wins will be grateful and happy. The winner will be announced on the photographers blog on Valentine's Day, Thursday, Feb. 14th.
